Who Can Join a Credit Union?
Anyone can join a credit union. The question is which one?
Each credit union has it’s own unique membership requirements, called the field of membership. Most often these requirements are connected to where you live or work. Some credit unions have extra criteria like where you worship or went to school.
This all ties back to how credit unions are different. Credit unions represent groups who have decided to pool together their resources and the membership requirement reflects the uniqueness of these groups.
