BFG Federal Credit Union is a full service federally insured institution established in 1935. In 1935 the factory workers of the BF Goodrich Company didn’t have a place to go in order to borrow short term small consumer loans. The local banks did not have a desire to lend to them and community thrifts were only there to provide home ownership. From 1935 until 2004 BFG served the employees of the BF Goodrich Company and 400 other companies located in Northeast Ohio. In 2005 our membership charter was expanded to include all residents, employees, students, worshippers and volunteers of Summit County, Ohio. Credit union privileges were also expanded to include immediate family members or household members of an existing member or any individual eligible for membership. We have members living in virtually all 50 states. Today, BFG Federal Credit Union is one of Ohio’s largest credit unions with more than 29,000 members with over $164 million in assets.
