Blue Chip FCU was founded in 1948 as RDG Harrisburg Credit Union to serve the financial needs of railroad workers in central PA. Expanding our membership to additional businesses in 1994, we converted to a federal charter and changed our name to Blue Chip FCU. In financial circles, “blue chip” refers to well-established and financially sound companies that sell high-quality products and services. This new name better reflected our growing credit union and the way we intended to service our membership.
