Catholic United Financial Credit Union was chartered by the State of Minnesota in May 2001 as Catholic Aid Association Credit Union. In 2010, the name was changed to reflect the name change of the parent company. In 2012, the Credit Union merged with Catholic Credit Union of St. Cloud, expanding the membership to more than 5,000, and opened a local branch in St. Cloud.
