Cooperative Extension Service Federal Credit Union (CESFCU) started in 1946 as the Agricultural Extension Workers Credit Association, a state chartered credit union. It was started by 11 Extension workers to allow them to save and borrow at their place of employment. It was a place members could borrow to purchase an automobile, a necessity in their Extension jobs. We became a Federal Credit Union in 1992 and changed our name to Cooperative Extension Service Federal Credit Union to better represent the organization we serve. The first credit union manager was hired in May 1989. During the first year of business assets totaled $4,236.52. Today our assets total over $5,000,000.
