The Credit Union was founded as Baker County Credit Union on August 12, 1967 in and for all residents of and persons who work in Baker county, Florida, employees of this credit union and organizations of such persons. Expanded in 1996 to include Baldwin and surrounding (six mile radius of Baldwin) area, with a branch office located in Baldwin, the Credit Union changed its name to Country Federal Credit Union to reflect it was no longer bound to Baker County. Effective June 1, 2018, the Credit Union converted from being federally chartered to state-charted, further expanded the field of membership to include all of Nassau County and Duval County west of Highway I-295 (zip codes 32220, 32221, 32234), and reinvented itself as Country Financial Credit Union.
