Delta County Federal Credit Union came about as the result of a merger of three separate credit unions – all of which had been serving niche parts of the Delta County Colorado community for many years. In 2001, the boards of the three separate cooperatives inked a plan to merge the three credit unions under the charter of Joint District 50 Federal Credit Union, and at the same time, change the name of the surviving institution to Delta County Federal Credit Union, while expanding the charter to expressly serve all those who live, work, worship or attend school in Delta County Colorado, and members of their immediate families. Since this merger, the Delta County Federal Credit Union has grown significantly in members and assets, has established three modern banking offices, and has stayed current with modern banking technology, resulting in DCFCU becoming such a trusted financial partner in the community that in 2014 and 2015 we topped the Delta County Independent’s reader’s poll as “Best Financial Institution!”
