First Credit Union of Scranton was founded in 1934 as the Scranton Postal Employees Credit Union. It was the first credit union in Scranton and one of the first in the state. The credit union later changed it's name to the Scranton Federal Employees Credit Union, and in 1997 the name was changed to First Credit Union of Scranton.
