In the early 1960’s, Darrell Rider had the vision to create a credit union that would benefit the employees of the four Howard County schools. His vision became a reality in 1964. During the early days of the credit union, the credit union was run out of Darrell’s house. Many members remember traveling out to Darrell’s house to pick up a check or drop one off in the old “milk crate.” As the credit union grew, there became a need to move the credit union out of Darrell’s house. For over 50 years, the Howard County School Employees Federal Credit Union has continued to provide its members with quality, friendly service and continues to do so.
