Hudson County School Employees Federal Credit Union was founded on March 1, 1951 by the late William and Catherine Miller who were both employed by the Jersey City public school system. While writing his doctoral thesis on the history of the credit union movement at New York University, Bill was advised by his close friend Thomas ‘Cork’ Corcoran to put his education to use and start a credit union himself. Bill and Kay first approached fellow teachers and offered free membership to school employees throughout Hudson County. Our Mission: Provide quality, convenient financial services to a diverse membership for the economic well-being of the individual and our communities.
