In 1980, Warner Brothers (WB) purchased Samuel Goldwyn Studios, and renamed it Warner Hollywood Studios. GSFCU then changed its name to Warner Hollywood Studios Federal Credit Union (WHSFCU) to reflect the new business environment on Dec 3, 1980. After the Warner Hollywood lot was sold on January 1st 2000, the studio was renamed “The Lot”. WHSFCU then held a membership-wide contest to rename the credit union and selected the clever double entendre name “Entertainment Capital” Federal Credit Union. Entertainment Capital Federal Credit Union (ECFCU) then established its headquarters on the Raleigh Studios Lot on Melrose Avenue in Hollywood, CA, across the street from Paramount Studios. Technicolor Federal Credit Union and Entertainment Capital Federal Credit Union completed their merger in 2005. Today, the credit union serves over 200 companies and thousands of members.
