SMW 104 Federal Credit Union was established April 3, 1962 as Sheet Metal Workers Local Union No. 216 Federal Credit Union. On January 1, 1982, Local No. 216 merged into Sheet Metal Workers’ Local Union No. 104. As of February 23, 1982, the credit union name was officially changed to SMW 104 Federal Credit Union. Later that year, Sheet Metal Production Workers’ Union No. 355, which later became Sheet Metal Production Workers’ Local Union No 371 followed by Sheet Metal Workers’ Local Union No 162, was added to the field of membership. In 2012, Sheet Metal Local No. 104 and Local No. 162 merged.
