A small group of postal employees came together with a dream to form a financial cooperative to serve the needs of postal employees in Smith, Upshur, Van Zandt, and Wood counties. In 1932 their dream became a reality and United Credit Union was born and began operations in the basement of the Post Office in Tyler TX. Over the years United Credit Union has strategically expanded and added additional fields of membership, including federal employees, Smith County and portions of Wood and Van Zandt counties, to bring our home town approach of service to a larger group of East Texas.
