Wellspring Credit Union was chartered in 1958 as Orange Firestone Employees Federal Credit Union, when the hardworking men and women of the Firestone Polymers plant in Orange, TX, pooled together $26,000. We continued to grow for over 40 years, when in 1999, the credit union received its charter to become a community-based membership. With the new charter, the name changed to Firestone Community Federal Credit Union and our membership expanded to serving 2 surrounding counties in Texas. In an effort to send a stronger message of our passion to provide our members the ultimate financial experience, we changed our name to Wellspring Federal Credit Union in August 2014. Wellspring, defined as “an abundant source”, describes our personality as a unique resource for our members in meeting their many financial needs.
