Our organization was created in 1950 by seven Ford engineers with a dream. Legend has it that the engineers pooled $5 each to found what was first called the Ford Engineering Employees Federal Credit Union. Since that modest beginning, the credit union has expanded significantly to multiple branches and over 200,000 members. We’re now one of the top-performing credit unions in the nation. Currently, we are in the top ten among peer credit unions in the nation for Return on Assets (ROA). Return on Assets is an indicator of how profitable a company is relative to its total assets. DFCU Financial is also well-capitalized and continues to be profitable.
